Maiden horse marathon debuts in Kwara

Horse lovers and sports enthusiasts are set to gather in Ilorin later this month for the highly anticipated Kwara Horse Show 2025, as preparations intensify for the state’s first-ever equestrian marathon.

The event, organised by Ambassador Aliyu Bolaji Magaji Nda, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of BMN Stable, will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin. It is expected to attract top dignitaries, riders, and enthusiasts from across Nigeria.

As the maiden edition, the show will feature a range of thrilling activities, including Horse Ball, a Horse Parade, and the highlight of the day—the Horse Marathon. Competitors from various regions will display their skills and endurance in a spirited contest.

A grand prize of N1m awaits the overall winner, alongside a raffle draw in which one lucky participant will receive a majestic horse. Organisers say these incentives aim to encourage healthy competition and elevate equestrian sports in the state.

Ambassador Magaji Nda described the initiative as a platform to promote equestrian culture, youth involvement, and community unity through sport. He noted that the show celebrates heritage, discipline, and pride, positioning Kwara as an emerging hub for cultural and sporting innovation.

He assured that the Kwara Horse Show 2025 will be a spectacular blend of culture, competition, and entertainment, promising an unforgettable experience for all.
