Ex-Kano Finance commissioner, Prof Kabiru Dandago, is dead
Professor Kabiru Isa Dandago, a former Commissioner for Finance in Kano, is dead.
Dandago died at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Wednesday evening.
Lamara Garba, Bayero University, Kano Director of Information, confirmed the passing of the professor of Accounting and Taxation at the university’s faculty of Social and Management Sciences.
“It is on a sad note that I announce the death of Professor Dandago. Professor Dandago recently contributed to an appeal fund to support the families of our deceased colleagues.

“May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus. Amin,” Garba wrote.
The deceased was invited to a Ramadan lecture last weekend by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) to be among the panel of discussants.
Dandago served as finance commissioner between June 2015 and October 2018 under then Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
He was at one time Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, BUK which he joined in September 1990.
He authored and edited many books on Accounting, Taxation, Finance and Economics.
