The Ekiti state Governor-elect, Kayode Fayemi and his deputy, Bisi Egbeyemi have on Wednesday, received their certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The ceremony took place at the state INEC headquarters along new Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Issuing him the certificate of return was INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Osun, Ekiti and Oyo states, Prince Solomon Soyemi.
The National Commissioner in charge of Oyo, Ekiti and Osun states, Adedeji Soyebi, presented the certificate to him at a ceremony held at state’s INEC office in Ado-Ekiti.
Recall that Fayemi, who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, had over the past weekend, defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola and 33 other candidates to win Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Fayemi will take the oath of office on October 16.
