An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan, has remanded Sunday Shodipe, the acclaimed Ibadan serial killer at Abolongo Correctional Centre.
19-year-old Shodipe, a resident of Akinyele space in Ibadan, allegedly killed one Funmilayo Oladeji.
Although, Shodipe is known as a serial killer, he’s been charged with one – rely cost of homicide.
The Senior Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi who didn’t take his plea, ordered him to be remanded on the Correctional Centre, pending recommendation from the state Ministry of Justice.
She adjourned the case until Oct. 26, for point out.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Salewa Ahmed advised the court docket that Shodipe on Aug. 13, at about 2:30 p.m in Moniya space of Akinyele Local Government Area(LGA), allegedly induced the loss of life of Oladeji, 45, by allegedly hitting her with a plank on her brow.
He mentioned the offence contravened part 316 and punishable below part 319 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol.II, Laws of Oyo State 2000.
Shodipe had earlier confessed to the killing of 5 individuals, together with Barakat, a scholar of Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Ibadan,
The accused was apprehended together with others and remanded at a police station.
He then escaped from custody and induced the loss of life of the lady the identical day, earlier than he was re- arrested and re- arraigned.
