Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps have been advised to uphold the core values of the corps, especially in the area of saving lives.
Mr Joseph Aremu, an Assistant Corps Marshal of the FRSC gave this advice during a parade on Friday in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
He stated that upholding the core values of the corps would support the rationale behind the formation of the FRSC and save more lives for the development of society.
Aremu, who held various key positions in the corps, stated that he transferred his services to FRSC in 1996 from Kwara State Ministry of Education.
He said, “Between 1996 and 1997, I was the Zonal Head of Training RSSHQ, Benin City. By July 1997, I was posted to RS 2.1, Lagos Sector Command as the Head of Operations. In September 1997, I was sent to RS 9.4 Imo State command in the same capacity.”
Aremu, however, said that he had to bow out but noted that it was difficult to say goodbye to the job he had been known with.
He thanked the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, and others who helped him during his time in FRSC.
In his speech, the FRSC Corps Marshal described Aremu as an example of a gentleman officer, who contributed meaningfully towards the growth and development of the corps.
