Ike Shorunmu, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper, on Saturday mentioned late former defender Ajibade Babalade died as a result of medical consideration was late in coming his method.
Shorunmu instructed newsmen in Ibadan that Babalade died on the University College Hospital (UCH) gate in Ibadan on Friday after he was denied remedy by a non-public hospital.
The 48year-old Babalade died after affected by cardiac arrest.
“He was denied remedy by the non-public hospital earlier than he was referred to UCH. At the primary hospital he was rushed to in Ibadan, he was rejected by the docs and referred to the UCH.
“But on his arrival at the UCH premises, he gave up the ghost at the gate . May his soul rest in peace, ” Shorunmu mentioned.
The former goalkeeper mentioned he was knowledgeable of Babalade’s dying after the day’s Jumat service.
“I went to the mosque for Jumat service. So, I switched off my cellphone. But instantly I put it again on, I obtained a message from one in every of his in-laws that I wanted to be at his place.
“So, I went with my spouse, however on our arrival, the household broke the information to me.
“I’m very sad as we speak now. We last spoke on Wednesday when he celebrated his son’s birthday,” he mentioned.
